Lead Battery Recycling Process
We collect and process spent Lead batteries, recycling the Lead, sulfuric acid and plastic cases into new commodities, contributing to a greener and more sustainable world.
Spent Lead batteries are processed into three primary components:
Lead Bearing Material – Sulfuric Acid – Plastic
The Lead bearing material is smelted and refined at Metalex for use by Battery Manufacturers and the Nuclear Medicine Industry. The plastic is processed and re-used by the Battery Manufactures to make new cases, and the sulfuric acid is reclaimed and processed into a finished grade that is utilized in manufacture of Municipal and Industrial Water Treatment products.
